Why Liking Superman Might Make You A Democrat

I’d rather be Batman than Superman.

Which side are you on? What you choose says a lot about how you view the world.

52% of people would rather be Batman than Superman. Of these, 100% agree that Alibaba is proof that China will dominate the world, versus just 46% of the general population.

100% believe that Scottland’s secession vote was tampered with, while only 57% of the general population does.

Like the infamous Dark Knight, people who’d rather be the tormented detective are more prone to see conspiracy and danger around every corner. They’re looking at worst-case scenarios and are prone to pragmatism.

100% think that Isis deserves no mercy, versus 86% of the general population. Like the fictional vigilante, people who chose “Batman” see the world in black and white, with no room for gray.

48% of people disagreed, asserting that they’d rather be Superman. Of these, 100% of Superman-relators think Obama really does love America, while only around 69% of all respondents do.

91% of people who chose “Superman” disagree that democrats don’t have an up-and-coming national star. Only 34% of typical respondents felt the same.

Those who choose Superman demonstrate optimism and an element of faith, as well as a possible bias in favor of the Democratic party.

100% of Supermen feel that western media never portrays anything good about Africa. Only 73% of typical respondents feel the same. Superman-empathizers also look out for the underdog and have a strong sense of justice and fairness.

"I'd rather be Batman than Superman." 52% agree. 48% disagree.Choosing Batman demonstrates a darker view of the world–more rooted in pragmatism and realism. Choosing Superman speaks to an optimism and forward-thinking hope, rooted in equality and fair play.

So what about you? Do you agree or disagree?

I’d rather be Batman than Superman.

Attention: This is a 1D Emergency

Zayn Malik has left the building. I repeat: Zayn Malik has left the building.

The biggest news today (if you judge news by Twitter trends) is that Zayn Malik has left One Direction. This comes days after he abruptly exited the group’s tour, vaguely citing stress as the reason. There’s been rumors of cheating and disagreements with other members, but it’s also just likely that Zayn had had enough of this:

Since he is, in the estimation of this Staance employee, 1D’s hottest member, this is a serious (re: not at all serious) loss. But it may actually be the beginning of the end for the band. Right now, the feeling is pretty pessimistic.
